This paper reproduces a Jouy canvas, printed with the block printing technique by the Manufacture Royale d'Oberkampf around 1785, presenting bucolic scenes. Its dating is attested to by the presence of a hot air balloon, the very first flight of which was made from Paris in 1783. The document preserved in the Maison's archives is a quilt, probably used in a duchess bed. One can only imagine the dreams of travel fantasized at the time of falling asleep. Digitally printed on a high quality non-woven fabric.
