Tespi is an ornate, figured velvet, woven with a viscose pile on a flat ground and ‘cross’ dyed to create a rich, two colour effect with the velvet outlined in a darker shade of the ground. The medium scale design of a scrolling oval damask motif is similar in style to those that Fortuny often used in his work. It is suitable for curtains and severe contract upholstery usage.
