‘Giant Peony’ has been a consistent design within GP & J Baker collections since 1926, when it was originally produced as a hand blocked print on both linen and chintz for the London decorators Newman, Smith & Newman. ‘Summer Peony’ is a rescaled and reimagined version of this historic ‘Giant Peony’ design, an extraordinarily beautiful mid-scale floral design.
