‘Guinea Fowl’ was designed in 1918 by William Turner, and features the Helmeted Guinea Fowl, a species native to Africa. This grand bird is surrounded by a floral trail of anemones, convolvulus and Malmaison Roses and the pattern was first hand block printed onto a fine linen cloth. ‘Broughton Rose’ was inspired by Turner’s original printed fabric. The reverse of the block print and the bleed through of the dyes on the back of the original fabric was the inspiration for this beautiful, faded print. The slightly blurred appearance of ‘Broughton Rose’ gives it a wonderful vintage appearance.
